This weeks Deze week Photo Hunt Photo Hunt theme is Glass . thema is Glass. I took this photo last summer in Okinawa, As you can see behind the Glass there a couple of snakes used in the production of Habushu. Ik nam deze foto afgelopen zomer in Okinawa, Zoals u kunt zien achter het glas er een paar slangen gebruikt bij de productie van Habushu.
Habushu: ハブ酒 Habu(ハブ) is the name of the Snake and Shu/Sake(酒) is Japanese for alcohol. Habushu:ハブ酒Habu (ハブ) is de naam van de slang en Shu / Sake (酒) is Japans voor alcohol. This particular poison is over 40% alcohol, which is the minimum % required so the snakes poison remains safe for consumption. Deze bijzondere vergif is meer dan 40% alcohol, dat is de minimale vereiste%, zodat de slangen gif blijft veilig voor consumptie.
I have my own bottle that cost about ￥１２０００、and is refillable as long as you keep the alcohol content above 40%, and above the level of the snake. Ik heb mijn eigen fles die kosten ongeveer ￥ 12000, en is navulbaar zolang je blijft het alcoholpercentage boven de 40%, en boven het niveau van de slang.
Habushu is also meant to be an aphrodisiac and very good for you….I'll leave that up to your imaginations now… Habushu is ook bedoeld als een afrodisiacum en zeer goed voor je .... Ik dat tot uw verbeelding zal nu vertrekken ...

It's the first time that I heard about this Habushu beverage. Het is de eerste keer dat ik hoorde over dit Habushu drank. Doesn't seem good… Lijkt niet goed ...

It tastes pretty good, as you can imagine strong alcohol taste. Het smaakt best goed, als je sterke alcohol smaak kan voorstellen. Only drunk in small amounts, maybe 2-3 shots is enough for most. Alleen gedronken in kleine hoeveelheden, misschien 2-3 schoten is genoeg voor de meeste.

did you ever see a habashu and mongoose fight, I was on Okinawa in the 60's and I saw it one time. heb je ooit een habashu en mangoest te bestrijden, was ik op Okinawa in de jaren 60 en ik zag het een keer.

Wow, that's very interesting! Wow, dat is heel interessant! We're not sure we'd want to try drinking anything with snake venom in it, though. We zijn niet zeker dat we zouden willen drinken iets met slang gif in het te proberen, dat wel. Thanks for the information! Bedankt voor de informatie!

I hate snakes…no fair. Ik haat slangen ... geen eerlijk. Should have warned us. Moeten waarschuwen ons. My heart is beating too fast right now. Mijn hart klopt te snel nu.

I don't think I'd want alcohol with poison in it. Ik denk niet dat ik alcohol met gif in wilt. I'll stick to boring beer I'll stick te saai bier

Does this mean you have a snake in your bottle? Betekent dit dat je een slang in je fles? Curious about how it lives, if so. Benieuwd naar hoe het leven, zo ja.

yep, snake in the bottle. yep, slang in de fles. but of course it's dead. maar natuurlijk is het dood. Kind of like pickled snake. Kind van soortgelijke gebeitst slang.

At least those serpentine little beasties are dead – last snakes I saw behind glass were Tiapans and they were angry little buggers. Tenminste die serpentijn kleine beestjes zijn dood - laatste slangen Ik zag achter glas werden Tiapans en ze waren boos weinig Buggers. The snake catcher who was showing them let the eastern browns and the carpet snakes out for a wander, but not the taipans – they're nasty little critters. De slang catcher die toonde hen laat de oostelijke bruin en het tapijt slangen uit voor een wandeling, maar niet de taipans - ze zijn vervelende kleine diertjes.
