I took this photo last summer in Okinawa, As you can see behind the Glass there a couple of snakes used in the production of Habushu. Ho preso questa foto la scorsa estate a Okinawa, come si può vedere dietro il vetro c'è una coppia di serpenti utilizzati per la produzione di Habushu.
Habushu: ハブ酒 Habu(ハブ) is the name of the Snake and Shu/Sake(酒) is Japanese for alcohol. Habushu:ハブ酒Habu (ハブ) è il nome del serpente e Shu / Sake (酒) è giapponese per l'alcool. This particular poison is over 40% alcohol, which is the minimum % required so the snakes poison remains safe for consumption. I have my own bottle that cost about ￥１２０００、and is refillable as long as you keep the alcohol content above 40%, and above the level of the snake. It tastes pretty good, as you can imagine strong alcohol taste. Il sapore è abbastanza buono, come si può immaginare il gusto di alcol forte. Only drunk in small amounts, maybe 2-3 shots is enough for most. Solo bevuto in piccole quantità, circa 2-3 scatti è sufficiente per la maggior parte.

did you ever see a habashu and mongoose fight, I was on Okinawa in the 60's and I saw it one time. Avete mai visto un habashu e combattere mangusta, ero a Okinawa nel '60 e ho visto una sola volta.

I don't think I'd want alcohol with poison in it. Non credo che avrei voluto di alcol con il veleno in esso. I'll stick to boring beer I'll stick alla birra che mi annoia

At least those serpentine little beasties are dead – last snakes I saw behind glass were Tiapans and they were angry little buggers. Almeno quelle serpentine beasties piccoli sono morti - serpenti scorso ho visto dietro un vetro e sono stati Tiapans erano arrabbiati Incula poco. The snake catcher who was showing them let the eastern browns and the carpet snakes out for a wander, but not the taipans – they're nasty little critters. Il catcher serpente che stava mostrando loro lasciare che il marrone e il tappeto orientale serpenti fuori per una passeggiata, ma non il taipan - sono brutte creature poco.
