This weeks Deze weken Photo Hunt Photo Hunt theme is unique and funny signs. thema is uniek en grappige borden. I get to see the following sign everyday at my office and I always get a laugh. Ik zie de volgende teken dagelijks op mijn kantoor en ik krijg altijd een lach. It's on the back of a door that should remain closed at all times, however this is another example of lost in translation…. Het is aan de achterkant van een deur die gesloten moet blijven te allen tijde, maar dit is een ander voorbeeld van Lost in Translation ....
The Japanese is “kaihou genkin” which does translate to “open prohibited” but going for prohibition is a little extreme, although I can understand the strong words when there are so many moochers in our office targeting the free coffee. De Japanse is "kaihou genkin" die niet vertalen naar "open verboden", maar gaan voor een verbod is een beetje extreem, maar ik kan begrijpen de sterke woorden, als er zoveel moochers in ons kantoor gericht op de gratis koffie.

That's a funny sign. Dat is een grappig teken. I live in Hawaii and we see a lot of mis-translated Japanese and it just cracks me up. Ik woon in Hawaï en we zien een heleboel mis-vertaalde Japanse en het gewoon scheuren me up.

Translations are often funny. Vertalingen zijn vaak grappig. See, nobody dare correct them coz they give us a few laughs. Zie niemand durven corrigeren coz zij geven ons een paar lacht.
