Photohunt Funny Signs

This weeks Photo Hunt theme is unique and funny signs. I get to see the following sign everyday at my office and I always get a laugh. It’s on the back of a door that should remain closed at all times, however this is another example of lost in translation….

The Japanese is “kaihou genkin” which does translate to “open prohibited” but going for prohibition is a little extreme, although I can understand the strong words when there are so many moochers in our office targeting the free coffee.

That’s a funny sign. I live in Hawaii and we see a lot of mis-translated Japanese and it just cracks me up.

Definitely funny! Those “Japlish” signs are so good. Sometimes I wonder if Englenese translations are as good :)

Translations are often funny. See, nobody dare correct them coz they give us a few laughs. :)
