Respondeu, “realmente?”
Alcançou sob a tabela e retirou bucked do cascalho.
“No.!” a classe shouted.
Then he looked at the class and asked, “What is the point of this illustration?”
One eager student raised her hand and said, “The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard you can always fit some more things in!”
“Good answer, but no,” the speaker replied, “that’s not my point.

The truth this illustration teaches us is: If you don’t put the big rocks in first, you’ll never get them in at all.
What are the ‘big rocks’ in your life?
Remember to put these BIG ROCKS in first or you’ll never get them in at all.
If you work hard on little stuff then you’ll fill your life with little things to worry about that don’t really matter, and you’ll never have the real quality time you need to spend on the big, important stuff (the big rocks).

ZJ on January 27th, 2008 at 1:51 pm #

Congratulations for being chosen as Photo Hunt’s Site of the Day! I love the photo and the story too. In the Khmer language, important is “samkhan”; and in the Filipino language, it is “mahalaga”, but we commonly use “importante”. Looking forward to more of your PH posts!

Neil Duckett on January 27th, 2008 at 1:54 pm #

Now that’s what i’m talking about, site of the day, Woo Hoo!

Carin on January 27th, 2008 at 8:34 pm #

And really like the story, it set me off thinking. Thanks for sharing.

Great shot! Congrats on site of the week. I love a good object lesson - they stick with you so much longer. I saw a gentlemen demonstrate this many years ago, and it’s well-rooted in my memory.

I actually don’t participate in PH, but usually stop by to see what the theme is for the week–you know, just in case. Well done on being site of the day and thanks for the reminder of that analogy. Nice work.
