A recent post Een recente bericht one of the een van de blogs blogs I read regularly inspired this post today. Ik lees regelmatig geïnspireerd op dit bericht vandaag. As pointed out in the post you could not be blamed for thinking that there are no Dentists in Japan, however I can assure you they are alive and well. Zoals in het bericht dat je niet kon worden verweten denken dat er geen Tandartsen in Japan, maar ik kan je verzekeren ze zijn gezond en wel.

I have spent countless hours in the Dental chair over the last year having amalgam fillings replaced with white fillings and more recently started the long haul of Orthodontic Braces. Ik heb talloze uren doorgebracht in de Dental stoel in de afgelopen jaren met amalgaamvullingen vervangen door witte vullingen en meer onlangs gestart met de lange duur van de orthodontische beugel.

Unfortunately you see a lot of people who believe that a $2000 handbag or a $4000 SLR Camera is apparently more important than good looking teeth, or even worse, actually having a full set of teeth. Helaas zie je een heleboel mensen die geloven dat een 2000 dollar handtas of een 4000 dollar SLR Camera's is blijkbaar belangrijker dan goed uitziende tanden, of erger nog, zelfs met een volledig gebit.

To be fair I will say that 95% of the female teeth that I have seen are well cleaned and generally a good shade of white just not aligned as you would hope, however the guys in Japan are a very different story. Om eerlijk te zijn ik zal zeggen dat 95% van de vrouwelijke tanden die ik ooit heb gezien goed worden schoongemaakt en over het algemeen een goede schaduw van de witte lijn net niet zoals je zou hopen, maar de jongens in Japan zijn een heel ander verhaal.

The following picture is very representative of many  a Japanese guys smiles, and a drinking friend of mine has a smile very similar to this next photo just not as many teeth….. De volgende afbeelding is zeer representatief is voor velen een Japans jongens glimlacht, en het drinken van een vriend van mij heeft een glimlach zeer gelijkaardig aan deze volgende foto gewoon niet zo veel tanden ... ..

While I don't know the reasons for the apparent lack of Dental care , and I am sure there are many, what I do know is up until the Meji Period what were considered beautiful teeth would make make you run for cover in modern times. Hoewel ik niet de redenen voor het schijnbare gebrek aan Tandheelkundige zorg weten, en ik weet zeker dat er velen zijn, wat ik wel weet, is tot op de Meji Periode wat beschouwd werd als mooi gebit zou zorgen dat u zoekt dekking in de moderne tijd.
