Last weekend I decided to purchase a mouse for the MacBook. Decisions decisions. The local electronics shop is a place called Yodobashi. It’s the kind of place you get ” Option Anxiety “. Well as an avid subscriber to numerous blogs and forums I stumbled across the Logitech VX Nano. All was well, I installed both the Windows driver and OSX driver and all was well. oooops… spoke too soon. the OSX driver caused the system to crash waking up from sleep state…..oh well, un-install the OSX driver and install SteerMouse… back to stable system. I did learn something new about the Mac, it’s called a Kernal Panic..same as a Windows Blue Screen of Death ( BSOD ). I took me back to my early years as a UNIX head, which is not suprising as OSX is now UNIX under the GUI. Now looking forward to the release of Leopard ( OSX 10.5 ) , currently running Tiger ( OSX 10.4 ). Should be sometime in October according to all the reports.

OK , off to sleep now and I promise the next post will be a Japanese cultural lesson… おまつり。。。。。。。。 がんべってます

I actually have the MX Revolution for my Dell Laptop. I read rave reviews on it, but it has battery recharge issues. I would put it in the cradle, then the green battery indicator would go up… then blink red. I could never get a full charge from it (this is a 3 week old mouse!). Phoned Logitech and they shipped me a new mouse. Same thing happens to the second mouse! I phone the company again and this time, they want me to ship it. I’m not going to ship it at my expense for a $140 CDN mouse… I don’t abuse it or have greasy hands so I don’t know how people who eat at their desk would fare. I’ve tried their recommendation of using an eraser to clean the contacts and also alcohol. It seems to be better but I still don’t get the full charge. Beware of the batteries :P

    Ouch! that’s gotta hurt.

For my mouse I just use generic AA rechargeables that I swap out and charge outside the mouse.

At work, where I don’t pay for the electricity!

I have a 4gig SO903i, Read about it at jDonuts.
