建国記念の日 - けんこくきねんのひ

kenkoku kinen no hi or National Founding Day was originally designated by the Meiji government as the day of Jinmu Emperor’s succession to the throne. Jinmu Emperor is believed to be the first emperor of Japan according to the “Koji-ki” and “Nihon-Shoki”. This holiday was January 29 at first, and then, a year later, it was moved to February 11. Although this holiday was abandoned in 1948, it returned as kenkoku kinen no hi, National Founding Day.

建国記念の日はもともと神武天皇が即位した日として、明治政府により国民の祝日に制定されました。古事記や日本書紀によれば、日本の最初の天皇が神武天皇だと信じられています。最初、この祝日は一月二十九日に制定されていましたが、一年後二月十一日に変更されました。一度、千九百四十八年に廃止されましたが、再び建国記念の日-国民の祝日の日にもどされました。
