This past weekend I was involved in some discussion regarding Japanese Culture and foreigners experiences and views on Japanese life and culture, needless to say somethings were said that didn't please everybody and nobody was trying to please either. Lo scorso fine settimana sono stato coinvolto in una discussione per quanto riguarda la cultura giapponese e le esperienze degli stranieri e punti di vista sulla vita e la cultura giapponese, manco a dirlo somethings si diceva che non piacerà a tutti e nessuno stava cercando di compiacere sia. All we can do is comment on what we know as individuals and listen to what other have to say. Tutto ciò che possiamo fare è commentare ciò che noi conosciamo come individui e ascoltare ciò che gli altri hanno da dire. All in all it was mostly constructive and everybody put across good points. Tutto considerato che era per lo più costruttivo e tutti i punti messi in tutta buona.

However, 1 comment certainly grabbed my attention, and that was basically one persons view that if particular participants hadn't formally studied Japanese Culture then they weren't qualified to comment. Tuttavia, 1 commento certamente afferrato la mia attenzione, e che era fondamentalmente uno delle persone ritiene che, qualora i partecipanti particolare, non aveva formalmente studiato Japanese Culture allora non erano qualificati per commentare. All written in perfect English…hmmm… Now I haven't formally studied Japanese, and I wasn't the target of the comment, but with in excess of 3 years of “immersion study” it should count towards a few study credits one would think. Tutti scritti in un inglese perfetto ... hmmm ... Ora io non sono formalmente studiato giapponese, e non era l'obiettivo del commento, ma con più di 3 anni di "studio di immersione" dovrebbe contare i crediti verso una qualche studio si sarebbe pensare. Especially given that all my friends are Japanese, I only go out with Japanese, I live with Japanese, I read, write and Speak Japanese…. Soprattutto considerando che tutti i miei amici sono giapponesi, ho solo uscire con i giapponesi, io vivo con i giapponesi, mi leggere, scrivere e parlare il giapponese .... pretty much my life is Japanese…. più o meno la mia vita è giapponese ....

Now this is not a tit for tat post, rather it's advice for everyone thinking of coming to Japan, somebody already in Japan looking for a greater understanding of their environment, or somebody looking for a good read. The books name is Kokoro which is Japanese for heart . Il nome di libri è Kokoro, che è giapponese per il cuore. The Kanji used however is just 心(kokoro) instead of what most would expect 心臓(sinzou). Il Kanji utilizzato è però solo心(kokoro) invece di quello che la maggior parte si aspetterebbe心臓(sinzou). So what author is trying to say is the kokoro means more than just heart, the kanji 心 also signifies the following English words: Mind, Spirit, Courage, Resolve, Sentiment, Affection and inner Meaning- just as we say in English- “The Heart of Things”……so keeping these words in mind, imagine the content of the book Kokoro. Quindi ciò che l'autore sta cercando di dire è il kokoro significa di più che solo il cuore, il kanji心significa anche le seguenti parole inglesi: mente, spirito, coraggio, Resolve, il sentimento, l'affetto e significato interiore, proprio come si dice in inglese "The cuore delle cose "... ... così mantenere queste parole in mente, immaginare il contenuto del libro Kokoro. It's written as a collection of stories and insights which aims to educate you about what you see “day to day” in the Japanese life. E 'scritto come una raccolta di storie e di intuizioni che mira a educare voi su ciò che si vede "giorno per giorno" nella vita giapponese.

The book is written by Il libro è scritto da Lafcadio Hearn Lafcadio Hearn , (1850-1904), born in Greece to an Anglo-Irish father and Greek mother. , (1850-1904), nato in Grecia ad un anglo-padre irlandese e madre greca. Lafcadio was brought up in Greece and Ireland and then moved to the US when he was 19 years old. Lafcadio è stato portato fino in Grecia e in Irlanda e poi si trasferì negli Stati Uniti quando aveva 19 anni. He first came to Japan in 1890 at the age of 40 were he spent the rest of his life teaching and writing. Ha la prima volta in Giappone nel 1890, all'età di 40 sono state trascorse il resto della sua vita, l'insegnamento e la scrittura. If you are unable to read Japanese this is probably the best book for you to get you feet wet in understanding the Japanese culture.
