This past weekend I was involved in some discussion regarding Japanese Culture and foreigners experiences and views on Japanese life and culture, needless to say somethings were said that didn't please everybody and nobody was trying to please either. في نهاية الأسبوع الماضي أنني متورط في بعض المناقشات بشأن الثقافة اليابانية والأجانب الخبرات والآراء حول الحياة والثقافة اليابانية ، وغني عن القول سمثينغس وقال ان ذلك لا ارضاء الجميع واحدا كان يحاول الرجاء سواء. All we can do is comment on what we know as individuals and listen to what other have to say. كل ما يمكننا فعله هو التعليق على ما نعرفه عن الأفراد والاستماع إلى الآخرين ما يجب أن أقوله. All in all it was mostly constructive and everybody put across good points. جميع في كل شيء ، كان معظمهم من البناء ووضع الجميع عبر النقاط الجيدة.

However, 1 comment certainly grabbed my attention, and that was basically one persons view that if particular participants hadn't formally studied Japanese Culture then they weren't qualified to comment. ومع ذلك ، 1 تعليق بالتأكيد أمسك انتباهي ، والتي كانت أساسا أحد الأشخاص رأي مفاده أنه إذا كان لا سيما المشاركين رسميا درس الثقافة اليابانية ثم أنها لم تكن مؤهلة للتعليق. All written in perfect English…hmmm… Now I haven't formally studied Japanese, and I wasn't the target of the comment, but with in excess of 3 years of “immersion study” it should count towards a few study credits one would think. جميع مكتوبة باللغة الانجليزية الكمال... هممم... والآن أنا لم تدرس رسميا اليابانية ، وأنا لم يكن الهدف من هذا التعليق ، ولكن مع ما يزيد على 3 سنوات من "دراسة الغمر" أنه ينبغي أن يحتسب من الاعتمادات الدراسة قليلة واحدة من شأنه أن يفكر. Especially given that all my friends are Japanese, I only go out with Japanese, I live with Japanese, I read, write and Speak Japanese…. وخصوصا ان جميع اصدقائي واليابانية ، وليس لدي سوى الخروج مع اليابانية ، وأنا أعيش مع اليابانيين ، والقراءة والكتابة والكلام... اليابانية. pretty much my life is Japanese…. الى حد كبير في حياتي... هي اليابانية.

Now this is not a tit for tat post, rather it's advice for everyone thinking of coming to Japan, somebody already in Japan looking for a greater understanding of their environment, or somebody looking for a good read. الآن هذا ليس الحلمه للمشاركة متبادلة ، بل نصيحة للتفكير الجميع على المجيء الى اليابان ، وشخص بالفعل في اليابان يبحث عن زيادة فهم بيئتهم ، أو أي شخص يبحث عن شيء جيد للقراءة.

The books name is Kokoro which is Japanese for heart . اسم كوكورو هي الكتب التي هي اليابانية للقلب. The Kanji used however is just 心(kokoro) instead of what most would expect 心臓(sinzou). كانجي تستخدم إلا مجرد心(كوكورو) بدلا من أن معظم ما يتوقع心臓(sinzou). So what author is trying to say is the kokoro means more than just heart, the kanji 心 also signifies the following English words: Mind, Spirit, Courage, Resolve, Sentiment, Affection and inner Meaning- just as we say in English- “The Heart of Things”……so keeping these words in mind, imagine the content of the book Kokoro. فما كاتب يحاول أن يقول هو كوكورو تعني أكثر من مجرد قلب ، وكنجي心كما يدل على الكلمات التالية الإنجليزية : العقل والروح ، والشجاعة والعزيمة ، والمشاعر والمودة والمعنى الباطني ، تماما كما نقول باللغة الانكليزية ، ان " قلب الامور "...... ذلك حفظ هذه الكلمات في الاعتبار ، وتخيل على مضمون الكتاب كوكورو. It's written as a collection of stories and insights which aims to educate you about what you see “day to day” in the Japanese life. انها مكتوبة على مجموعة من القصص والأفكار التي تهدف إلى توعية حول ما كنت تشاهد "يوما بعد يوم" في الحياة اليابانية.

The book is written by والكتاب من تأليف Lafcadio Hearn Lafcadio هيرن , (1850-1904), born in Greece to an Anglo-Irish father and Greek mother. ، (1850-1904) ، ولد في اليونان إلى الانجلو الايرلندية الأب والأم اليونانية. Lafcadio was brought up in Greece and Ireland and then moved to the US when he was 19 years old. Lafcadio ترعرعت في اليونان وايرلندا وبعد ذلك انتقل الى الولايات المتحدة عندما كان عمره 19 عاما. He first came to Japan in 1890 at the age of 40 were he spent the rest of his life teaching and writing. انه لاول مرة الى اليابان في عام 1890 في سن ال 40 كانت أمضى بقية حياته تدريس الحياة والكتابة. He took Japanese Citizenship, he married a Japanese and took the name Yakumo Koizumi 小泉八雲. تولى المواطنة اليابانية ، وتزوج من اليابانيين واتخذ اسم Yakumo كويزومي 小泉八云.

If you are unable to read Japanese this is probably the best book for you to get you feet wet in understanding the Japanese culture. إذا كنت غير قادر على قراءة اليابانية وربما هذا هو الكتاب الأفضل لك أن تحصل على قدم الرطب في فهم الثقافة اليابانية.
