Last weekend I went to Kawagoe, or as everyone know it “Little Edo”, literally translated means River(kawa) Over(goe). Na semana passada, fui a Kawagoe, ou como todo mundo sabe disso "Little Edo", traduzido literalmente significa Rio (Kawa) Over (GOE). I went there to see a friends new house and to explore the yearly festival. Fui lá para ver uma nova casa e amigos para explorar o festival anual.

This festival is held on the 3rd Saturday and Sunday in October. Esta festa realiza-se no 3 º sábado e domingo de outubro. With the old fashioned “kurazukuri” style buildings and the town of “Little Edo” for a background, floats weighing up to 7.5tonnes parade in the city with “Edo-bayashi”, a traditional music.Bands compete with each other, which is called “hikkawase” and is the climax of the parade. Com a moda antiga "kurazukuri" estilo e edifícios da cidade de "Little Edo" para um fundo, flutua com peso de até 7.5tonnes desfile na cidade com "Edo-bayashi", um tradicional music.Bands competir uns com os outros, o que é chamado "hikkawase" e é o clímax do desfile. As usual plenty of food drink and fun exploring this cute town that has held onto it’s Edo period look and feel. Como de costume bastante comida e bebida divertido explorar esta cidade que se manteve giro para dentro dele do período Edo look and feel. The town is surrounded by rivers hence the name and there is quite a lot to see. A cidade está cercada por rios, daí o nome e há muito muito para ver. Well worth the 30 minutes north of Tokyo. Valeu a pena os 30 minutos ao norte de Tóquio. The festival is very interesting were many “Floats” travel the streets under hand power and have a music and stage show on each one, as two floats come together the “Battle” it out and try to persuade each other to follow there tune. O festival é muito interessante foram muitos "carroças" viagem pelas ruas em mão e poder ter uma música e mostrar a cada um palco, como bóias dois se juntam a "batalha" com isso e tentar persuadir uns aos outros a seguirem lá melodia. The streets a lined with all the usual stall but one in particular to my fancy, Sasebo-Burger! As ruas, ladeadas por um todos os habituais, mas um estábulo, em especial a minha fantasia, Sasebo-Burger! I resisted the temptation of getting one but boy they looked great.I also had Sake in a very peculiar way, drinking from a standard square wooden sake cup but with salt around the edge, kind of like a sake shot. Eu resistiu à tentação de se obter um menino, mas eles também tiveram olhou great.I Sake em uma maneira muito peculiar, beber de um copo padrão quadrado de madeira bem, mas ao redor da borda com sal, bem como uma espécie de tiro. Very tasty but not exactly what I needed after a big night on Friday. Muito saboroso, mas não exatamente o que eu precisava depois de uma grande noite de sexta-feira. This coming weekend I will go to another very famous area called Nikko, a world heritage area I believe and they have monkeys that take hot baths or as we know it in Japan an Onsen..looking forward to seeing some crazy monkeys wreaking havoc on unsuspecting tourists! Na próxima semana irei a uma outra área muito famoso chamado Nikko, uma área do património mundial e creio que eles têm macacos tomar banhos quentes ou como sabemos que no Japão um Onsen .. ansioso para ver alguns macacos loucos wreaking confiante em escombros turistas! Tomorrow is also the launch of Mac OS X Leopard, could be a busy Friday night, or hopefully everything goes smooth and I can report just how great the new OS X Leopard is.
