A couple of weeks ago I traveled down to Matsue for the 2009 Horanenya festival. Un paio di settimane fa ho viaggiato fino a Matsue, per il Festival 2009 Horanenya. The Horanenya festival is one of three famous boat festivals in Japan. Il festival Horanenya è uno dei tre festival famosa imbarcazione in Giappone. It is held only once every twelve years so I took advantage of this time… Si svolge solo una volta ogni dodici anni quindi ho approfittato di questo tempo ...

The story is that the spirit of a “Kitsune” fox god is transported between two shrines by boat and Kabuki actors dance while the rowers chant “Horanenya!” (a plea to the gods for a good harvest). La storia è che lo spirito di un "Kitsune" dio volpe è trasportato tra due santuari in barca e gli attori danza kabuki, mentre il canto rematori "Horanenya!" (Un appello agli dèi per un buon raccolto).
