What a tough choice, a choice I wish I had on the windows laptops. Having spent around two weeks on the mac I can say I am very happy, however there are some small things that annoy. Apparently not all web browsers are created equal, or more specifically show content the same way. So developing websites on the mac only to find it all screwed up the next day while viewing from a PC is not ideal. Watching the “Australian network” internet tv is fine on both systems, however the flip4mac software has no option to show full screen so pumping the signal to a tv kind of sucks without a full screen option. minor issues I know, but I have a solution, install windows as well. 1st, I pumped 4 gig ram into the baby. Next I need to decide whethere I install WindowsXP or Vista natively through bootcamp or run windows in a window inside Tiger OSX… I think I will with Paralels this weekend and if it doesn’t work out so well then it’s of to botcamp.. damn I love this new mac, best of all worlds….. stay tuned for progress.
Technical footnote:
The macbook can only address 3gb of the 4gb because of the potential of the memory controller “double allocating” memory blocks.
As the macbook only has two memory slots I wanted to achieve full DDR2 performance so matched pairs was the go. Instead of 2gb + 1gb sticks i went for the 2 x 2gb sticks…the macbook ( MB )takes the same meory as the macbook pro ( MBP )
I did alot of research to confirm before the upgrade… hope this save somebody a bunch of research….

Nice to hear you’re liking the Mac. For me it has been a choice I made very early, and have never looked back. The pc computing life does not compare.
Flip4Mac has been an essential item on my Mac due to all the WMV content everywhere. BTW, it’s not a function of F4M for full screen…that’s the workings of Quicktime, and you’ll need QT “Pro” to get the full screen option.
Happy Mac’ing.
