Blog Action Day: 2008 – Poverty بلوق العمل اليوم : 2008 -- الفقر

As the title says today is Blog Action Day and the theme this year is Poverty. كما يقول عنوان اليوم هو مدونة العمل اليوم ، وموضوع هذا العام هو الفقر.

Living in Japan, arguably one of the wealthiest countries in the world, you get to see a lot of “In Your Face” poverty. الذين يعيشون في اليابان ، يمكن القول بأن واحدة من أغنى البلدان في العالم ، وكنت انظر الى الحصول على الكثير من "في وجهك" الفقر. Around the main stations and public parks and in particular at night you will see cities of cardboard and blue plastic sheets pop up out of nowhere. حول المحطات الرئيسية والحدائق العامة وبصفة خاصة في الليل سترون المدن من الكرتون ورقائق البلاستيك الزرقاء المنبثقة من العدم.

At first it was easy for me to ignore it and say it's the governments problem but as time goes I realize it does have an impact on me. في البداية كان من السهل بالنسبة لي أن نتجاهله ، والقول انها مشكلة الحكومات ، ولكن مع مرور الوقت وأنا أدرك أنه لا يكون لها تأثير على لي. As you can see from the picture below this is not a small problem. كما ترون من الصورة ادناه هذه ليست مشكلة صغيرة.

I don't know the official government policy on looking after homeless people, and I am sure like most countries it's probably ignore it and it will go away eventually. أنا لا أعرف من المسؤول عن سياسة الحكومة تبحث بعد شخص بلا مأوى ، وأنا واثق من شأنها شأن معظم البلدان أنه ربما تجاهلها وانها لن تذهب بعيدا في نهاية المطاف. Guess what, it won't go away. تخمين ما ، فإنه لن يذهب بعيدا.

After a couple of years of treading the same shopping path from Shinjuku station to Yodobashi West Exit, I  came across the same guy selling the بعد بضع سنوات من وطئ المسار تسوق نفسها من محطة شينجوكو لإنهاء Yodobashi الغربية ، جئت عبر نفس الرجل بيع “Big Issue” "العدد الكبير". , which I would purchase, he always asks in perfect English if Japanese magazine is OK, yes it's still OK like last month.. ، والذي أود شراء ، وقال انه يسأل دائما في اللغة الانجليزية بطلاقة إذا المجلة اليابانية على ما يرام ، نعم انها لا تزال موافق مثل الشهر الماضي.. it has become one of my rituals in Japan. فقد أصبح واحدا من طقوس بلدي في اليابان. In addition to purchasing the بالإضافة إلى شراء “Big Issue” "العدد الكبير". I now give him some  cash every month.. أعطيه بعض النقود كل شهر.. and quite frankly I don't care what he does with it as long as it makes his existence a little happier. وبكل صراحة ، لا يهمني ماذا يفعل مع أنه طالما أنه يجعل من وجوده تصبح أسعد بعض الشيء. During winter months I also give him a small care package with heat packs, some cold medicine, face masks etc.. خلال شهور الشتاء وأود أيضا أن تقدم له الرعاية حزمة صغيرة مع حزم الحرارة ، وبعض الأدوية الباردة ، وأقنعة الوجه إلخ. Guess it's my own private charity… اعتقد انه بلدي الخيرية الخاصة...

Step back, take a look around and ask yourself, can I spare $100 a month.. خطوة إلى الوراء ، وإلقاء نظرة حول واسأل نفسك ، ويمكنني أن الغيار 100 دولار شهريا.. the answer is yes.. الجواب نعم..
